Job descriptionBachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field. 2-6 years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning preferred. Proficiency in Synchro / SIDRA / HCS. Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Forecasting, Signal Design, ITS, and Signal Timing preferred. Experience with bicycle / pedestrian / multi-modal projects preferred. Basic CAD and GIS knowledge preferred. Experience with DOT and local agencies preferred. PE / EIT certification preferred.
Civil Project Engineer II / III - Traffic Analysis and Planning
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II / III - Traffic Analysis and Planning to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group in Raleigh, NC.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
- Bicycle / pedestrian / multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
- Perform calculations using engineering formulas and / or computer tools to solve problems.
- Research and write objective summary reports for project completion.
- Assist in preparing engineering planning schedules and cost estimates.
- Conduct field observation, inspection, and data collection.
- Communicate with client staff and internal teams.
- Present results and recommendations to the public.
