Key Job Details – Med / Surg RN Travel Assignment Location : Kearney, Nebraska 68845 Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Medical-Surgical Unit Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 2 / 16 / 2026) Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,880 - $2,020 Unit Size : 23 beds Patient Ratios : 1 : 6 max (Dayshift M-F 1 : 5) Charting System : EPIC Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Floating Requirement : May float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Medical-Surgical Unit assignments unless telemetry trained Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (Nebraska or compact state) – required for Nebraska healthcare jobs Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications Strong clinical skills and ability to manage patient ratios up to 1 : 6 Flexibility to float to PCU as needed Ability to work every other weekend and meet holiday requirements (no more than 1 holiday off during contract) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Medical-Surgical unit Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC charting system Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered Educate and support patients and families Float to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for Medical-Surgical assignments as needed Maintain compliance with hospital policies and procedures Why Choose Kearney, Nebraska for Your Nursing Job?
