Moog's Military Aircraft has an immediate opening for a Supply Chain Specialist / Procurement Buyer. You'll work and collaborate across multiple teams such as Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Proposal Management, Supplier Quality, Supplier Management, Planning, Manufacturing, Engineering, and more. Reporting to our Site Supply Chain; Procurement Lead, you will have a 9 / 80 work schedule with a hybrid work option (3 days / week in the office or more depending on program needs) at our aerospace manufacturing plant in Torrance, California.
You will be Moog's focal point within the organization supporting Supply Chain processes and coordinating placement of compliant purchase orders. A Procurement professional working under the guidance of the team Lead / s supports designated commodities within direct and indirect Procurement to achieve the site operational requirements. At Moog the Procurement Buyer responsibilities include process management for suppliers and quality non-conformance. Purchase order commodity management requires negotiating cost-effective pricing, compliance support documentation, building and managing Procurement data.
To achieve the operational requirements for all Moog sites this role will manage effective relationships with their Supply Chain team and internal / external customers.
As a Supply Chain Specialist / Procurement Buyer, here's what you'll be working on :
- Purchase goods or services in line with Compliance parameters such as price analysis and single source justification documentation, manage a compliance purchase order folder, research Moog approved and evaluated suppliers, market trends, best pricing, quality, and negotiated pricing.
- Timely and effective management of purchase requisition requirements to prevent aging buys that affect manufacturing build and deliveries to our customers.
- Understanding the part planning parameters for best practice purchasing and inventory management in materials plan input
- Maintain compliant government and commercial procurement processes with exposure to internal and external audits for CPSM.
- Liaise with Supplier Lead in region related to delivery commitments, collaborate.
- Support accurate and consistent system data inputs related to for example, supplier lead time (LT), minimum order quantity (MOQ).
- Coordinate organized feedback for supplier negotiations, transitions, and / or challenges to support site operational requirements.
- Collaborate with Strategic Sourcing to ensure contractual terms and conditions are operationalized into the integrated planning and placement processes, identify and resolve deviations to contractual terms and conditions.
- Support communications for non-conforming parts on purchase orders with suppliers and / or Supplier Quality to seek effective responses and resolutions. This includes timely data input in Quality system for managing priority and aging queue that may require regional Supply Chain and Quality teams support for resolution.
- Communicate and update internal site functions such as Receiving Inspection (RI), Return to Vendor (RTV), supplier portal, and other Supply Chain requirements that ensure parts are delivered to point of use as required.
- Ability to manage several activities simultaneously for effective time management and multitasking.
- Compile, prepare, and present information and / or data to effectively communicate as needed or required.
