Locum Tenens – Full-Time Optometrist

Tuolumne, California

Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Locum Tenens Optometrist to join a thriving, patient-focused practice in Tuolumne , CA . This is an excellent opportunity to work in a modern facility with a supportive clinical team, providing high-quality vision care to a diverse patient base.

Assignment Details

Location :  Tuolumne, California

Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM (no weekends)

Duration : Ongoing locum coverage 3+ months with potential for extension

Setting : Outpatient clinic – comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, and ocular disease management

Patient Volume : 15–20 patients per day

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive eye exams and vision assessments

Diagnose and manage ocular diseases (glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, etc.)

Prescribe corrective lenses and contact lenses

Provide patient education on eye health and preventive care

Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals as needed

Requirements

Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited program

Active California Optometry License (or ability to obtain)

Current DEA Optional (if prescribing therapeutic pharmaceutical agents)

Prior clinical experience preferred; new grads welcome

Excellent communication and patient care skills
