Geriatric Nursing Assistant- (PRN)

Location : Silver Spring, MD, 20910
Employment Type : PRN
Pay Rate : $12 - $17 / hr; (Negotiable based on experience)
Shift : 7 : 00 AM 3 : 00 PM

Job Summary :

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) provides care and support to elderly residents. The GNA helps with daily activities, monitors residents' well-being, and ensures they are safe and comfortable.

Key Responsibilities :

Provide personal care to residents, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.

Assist residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.

Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental conditions to the nursing staff.

Measure and record vital signs, intake, and output as directed.

Maintain residents' rooms in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.

Support residents' independence and well-being by encouraging participation in daily activities.

Adhere to infection control and safety policies at all times.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and the healthcare team.

Perform other duties as assigned by the nursing supervisor or charge nurse.

Required Qualifications :

Valid Maryland Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) certification .

Current CPR / First Aid certification .

Previous experience in a long-term care or assisted living facility is a plus.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
