Position Description

We are actively seeking a highly accomplished and experienced Vice President of Software Engineering to spearhead the development and evolution of our critical data product. This pivotal role is central to extending and solidifying our core data moat—a strategic differentiator that underpins Sayari's market leadership. The successful candidate will assume comprehensive ownership of the entire data lifecycle, encompassing data acquisition, extraction, harmonization, and persistence / packaging. The team supporting this vital function is primarily based in the United States.

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully scaling complex data platforms, demonstrating a deep understanding of architectural patterns and best practices. Strong background in harmonizing disparate datasets using cutting-edge machine learning (ML) and Generative AI (Gen AI) techniques is essential. This role offers significant latitude for innovation, encouraging the exploration and implementation of novel solutions to complex data challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead Data Engineering Strategy : Define and execute the technical vision for a scalable, high-performance data product utilizing Generative AI, advanced entity resolution, and unstructured data harmonization.
• Team Leadership : Recruit, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers, fostering personal growth and technical excellence.
• Product Delivery : Drive end-to-end data product delivery—ensure on-time, high-quality releases that align with product goals and company OKRs, leveraging a scaled agile process.
• Architecture & Technology Oversight : Oversee architecture decisions, with a hands-on approach to evaluating tradeoffs across frameworks, pipelines, languages, etc.
• Collaboration : Partner with product, and infrastructure teams to deliver reliable solutions. Partner with sales and customer success to identify future opportunities and to gather data product feedback (particularly quality).
• Innovation : Stay ahead of emerging technologies in GenAI, knowledge graphs, NLP, and machine learning. Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
