The Opportunity
We are looking for a part-time Construction Accountant to join our team who will manage monthly Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Client Billing processes. This role requires precise attention to detail, strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to work within multiple systems. The project accountant reports to the Director of Finance and supports internal and external customers. Manages accounts payable, invoice preparation, project metric tracking, and assists in month-end closing activities.
This position begins as Part-Time (minimum of 20 hours per week) , with the potential to transition to Full-Time .

Role & Responsibilities
Possess an expertise in the QuickBooks Accounts Payable, Billing, & Accounts Receivable modulesPossess an understanding in job cost, work in progress, and revenue recognition principlesManage accounts payable process including invoice entry and release of liensManage monthly client billing including client change orders, updating project metrics and identifying areas of concern.Assist with monthly closing processes including credit card and bank reconciliationsDevelop and maintain a high level of customer serviceDevelop and maintain a high level of trust with the leadership team, project managers, superintendent, owners & employees by timely responding to inquiriesMaintain discretion and confidentiality of the Company and client informationSeek out, identify, and suggest cost-saving opportunitiesAssist in the development, implementation and maintenance of internal controls for purposes of safeguarding company assets as well as providing accurate and efficient informationAdditional duties : due to the cyclical nature of the billing cycle, other duties will be assigned based on employee's interest and department needs, which may change from time to timeQualifications and Skills
Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting or finance2-3 years minimum accounting experience - construction industry strongly preferredSolid foundation and proficiency in QuickBooksExperience with Procore is a plusExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent organizational skills and high attention to detailExcellent analytical skillsAptitude for numbers and quantitative skillsAbility to work with discretion and confidentiality of sensitive dataWork independently as well as part of a teamWork under pressure in meeting tight deadlinesSelf-reliant and resourceful in problem-solvingCompensation & Schedule
