Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 6,700 TK-College students across 30 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. POSITION OVERVIEW

The Guitar Instructor will provide both group and individual guitar lessons, helping students to improve their technical abilities, music theory knowledge, and overall enjoyment of playing the guitar. Whether teaching beginner, intermediate, or advanced players, you will be responsible for developing lesson plans, creating a positive learning atmosphere, and inspiring students to grow their musical skills.

The Guitar Instructor should be able to differentiate between guitars (and additional instruments), such as acoustic, electric, classic, or bass. In addition to this, you are required to develop tracks as and when required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Teach introductory guitar and basic music theory
• Supervise groups of up to 10 high school aged members
• Act as a positive role model and mentor for students
• Follow a structured curriculum while adapting to the needs of the students
• Foster a fun, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
• Support students in the preparation of 3 events annually : Forest Feast, Youth of the Year, & Summer Showcase
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned

As part of the hiring process, BGCP requires candidates to complete a LiveScan fingerprinting, background check, and tuberculosis (TB) test.
