Job Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Urology Unit night shift position requiring high acuity care and strong proficiency with insulin and heparin drips.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in the Urology Unit within a hospital Med / Surg setting
  • Night shift position with 4x12 hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 00
  • Patient ratios are 1 : 6 or 1 : 7 with high acuity care required
  • Block booking is available except on holidays, with every other weekend required
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience is a plus but not required
  • Orientation takes place every other Monday
  • Applicants must live at least 90 miles from the facility
  • Care for urology patients with complex medical needs in a high acuity environment
  • Must be comfortable managing high patient ratios
  • Will consider first-time travelers who have extensive experience
  • Scrubs required : all navy or navy pants with white top
  • Holiday shifts may not be block booked and coverage expectations apply
  • Two professional references are needed for consideration
  • A copy of driver's license and Social Security number is required for compliance

  • Active AL or compact RN license in good standing is required
  • 1-2 years Med / Surg RN experience in high acuity settings
  • Must be proficient with insulin and heparin drips
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications are required
  • COVID-19 vaccination required unless a documented religious or medical exemption is provided
  • Flu shot required or exemption documentation must be provided
  • Experience in large healthcare facilities preferred
