Project Director
The Project Director will provide leadership and oversight for UCP's new Federal Charter School Dissemination Grant, ensuring the successful enhancement, implementation, monitoring, and dissemination of innovative practices developed across UCP Charter Schools. This role is responsible for managing all aspects of grant execution, including project planning, compliance, staff coordination, fiscal accountability, evaluation, and dissemination of results to partner schools, state agencies, and national audiences.
Previous school leadership experience (preferably in a charter school) and strong ESE background required.
Grant & Project Management
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan including timelines, milestone and resource allocation and a post-grant sustainability plan aligned to grant deliverables.
- Lead the overall execution of the Federal Dissemination Grant, ensuring fidelity to approved objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Section 1002.33, F.S., and DOE reporting requirements.
- Monitor expenditures in collaboration with finance staff.
- Prepare and submit all required federal and state progress, financial, and performance reports.
Program Implementation & Dissemination
Conduct and analyze needs assessment with other charter schools.Assist in the development / enhancement / documentation and then facilitate the sharing of evidence-based practices to serve diverse learners with charter schools nationally.In partnership with professional learning specialists, develop and coordinate professional development and technical assistance for school leaders, teachers, and support staff.Create / Direct the design and delivery of dissemination activities, including :Development of Online Resource Hub / website including coordination of UCP team collaborators (blog / video contributors)
Co-produce (with outside consultant / UCP Ed leadership team) professional Learning video modulesCoordinate the development of Implementation GuideDevelop and coordinate UCP Inclusion Experience (on-site immersion experience)Develop, coordinate, and provide implementation coaching to other charter schools.Coordinate the development and implementation of family and community engagement including training and other resources.Support the identification / training of "Train the Trainers."Facilitate community of practices and expert network directory.Develop an expert on call Help Desk (including coordination of a Chatbot)Coordinate Summer PD Institute and Mini-Conferences (to be provided in different sites throughout the country)Lead development of communications materials / social media stories, publications, and presentations to share project impact.Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise assigned grant staff and UCP team project collaborators.Collaborate with UCP's school leadership teams to embed dissemination practices within existing operations.Represent UCP Charter Schools at state and national forums related to charter innovation and dissemination.Lead the development of research and writing / publishing of journal articles / conference presentations for Project / Related topics ensuring at least two research articles and two conference presentations occur annually.Data, Evaluation & Reporting
Ensure effective systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting student, staff, and program outcomes and track performance metrics, including student achievement, inclusion indicators, staff retention, and partner school adoption rates.Use data to inform decision-making and communicate program effectiveness to stakeholders.Qualifications
Master's in Education Leadership / Non-Profit Management / Organizational Management or closely related field.Minimum 7 years in education, nonprofit leadership, or program management (charter school experience strongly preferred).Demonstrated success managing federal or state grants, including compliance and reporting.Passion and experience with education models serving students with diverse needs and dissemination of best practices.Supervisory and budget management experience required.Strong organizational and project management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong technology skills.Ability to build partnerships across diverse schools, communities, and agencies.Data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement mindset.Storytelling skills
