SUMMARY OF POSITION :

The Assistant Foreman is responsible for assisting the Foreman with the management of crew members by following the Company’s systems, processes, policies, safety practices to achieve high quality, safe, and efficient crew production.  This role will also assist with providing client satisfaction to the highest standard.  Critical for this position will be managing and holding individuals accountable for following Company processes and procedures every day as well as meeting performance expectations.  This position will also need to embrace leading and inspiring crew members in fostering a culture of safety, passion, dedication, and loyalty.  This position will report to the Foreman.

RESPONSIBILITES :

• Assist with project execution :
• Help install landscaping features like retaining walls, patios, and traditional landscaping.
• Crew management :
• Work with Foreman to manage a crew, ensuring they are trained, supervised, and working safely.
• Lead crew in preparation / execution of daily tasks in the Foreman’s absence.
• Assist crews with time entry and issue management.
• Material management :
• Assist in ordering, purchasing, and tracking materials, as well as ensuring proper inventory management.
• Safety and compliance :
• Ensure that safety procedures are followed on the job site and that all work complies with Company and regulatory standards.
• Partner with Safety Supervisor to ensure all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn by crew at times when equipment or job task specifies.
• Ensure Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) sheets, Toolbox Talks reports are completed and submitted timely and daily.
• Facilitate on the job stretching exercises before job start, after lunch, and before end of day.
• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe job sites at all times.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to bend, kneel, walk, crouch for long periods of time during the workday.  The position also requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs., unaided, repeatedly throughout the workday.  In addition, the employee must be able to work in all outdoor conditions :   heat, cold, humidity, dust, mud, etc…

Laborers (four to five), per crew.
