Mechanic

SUMMARY OF FUNCTION

Maintains and repairs light equipment, heavy equipment and City vehicles. Responds to emergency road calls.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with the general public and co-workers.

Ability to comprehend and complete advanced training.

Must be in good physical condition, and have the ability to physically withstand strain of performing manual tasks for long periods at a time.

Must have knowledge of the standard methods, practices, tools and equipment of the automotive trade and gasoline and diesel engines.

Must be skilled in the use and care of hand and machine tools, equipment and hydraulics maintenance, acetylene and arc welding and automotive electronics.

Must have auto, diesel, mechanic, hydraulic, welder and electrical equipment.

Must have mechanics tools. Shop provides most diagnostic equipment.

Must have valid Colorado driver's license (CDL Type B), or the ability to obtain CO CDL Type B within 6 months of hire.

Must have three years experience in auto / truck mechanics.

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.

Must maintain strong attention to detail.

Must be organized.

Must maintain pride in workmanship.
