Position Summary

The Industrial Engineer must be a hands-on individual, familiar with a metals manufacturing environment, possess high energy level, be career oriented and be enthusiastic in advancing our manufacturing operations to the next level. On the engineering side, the candidate will focus on designing and optimizing manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost. On the cost side, the candidate will focus on obtaining cycle time / sequence feedback on routings, correcting, and implementing standard work and thereby improving costing, and on the safety and quality side, the candidate will focus on corrective actions and implementations.

The Job

As an Industrial Engineer, you'll be part of our Engineering team working onsite. You'll get to :

  • Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in our manufacturing process, using standard industrial engineering principles, such as VSM, SPC, TMS and Process Mapping.
  • Work closely with Finance, Manufacturing, Master Data and Materials to ensure correct manufacturing costs are maintained by correcting and auditing process routings and bill of materials.
  • Manage, lead, or contribute to projects focused on cost savings, process improvements, automation implementations or facility expansions.
  • Design and optimize facility and work cell layouts to maximize utilization, material flow, and safety.
  • Work closely with Quality Engineering to implement Process Control Plans and PFMEA's.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (8D or 5Why) to identify ways to improve and maintain acceptable product quality.
  • Design tools, fixtures, and gages for production products as well as occasional maintenance repair parts.
  • Routinely collaborates with CI functions to participate in Kaizen / SMED events.

The Person

You love to learn and grow and be acknowledged for your valuable contributions. You're not intimidated by innovation. You also have :

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSIE preferred / BSME / BSMfgE) or 5+ years equivalent directly related experience.
  • 3-10 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus, including lean manufacturing with relevant exposure to primary manufacturing such as assembly, machining, CNC Machining, forming, forging.
  • Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring projects to ensure timely completion and meet specifications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for collaborating with diverse teams and presenting technical information clearly.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design, ergonomics, quality control, and relevant software like MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Solid knowledge of Creo CAD, or CATIA V5 / 6 and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  • Real world experience with APQP, PFMEA, PCPs.
  • Use logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions and make decisions.
  • Able to apply statistics to use in problem solving activities.
  • Work effectively with others and foster collaboration within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to promote creativity and informed risk taking with a sense of urgency to achieve important goals.
  • Demonstrates trust in team members and celebrates success. Demonstrates the highest level of personal ethical conduct and leads by example.
