Job Title : Radiology Staff Nurse

Job Specialty : Radiology Nursing

Job Duration : Travel Position

Shift : Monday-Friday with variability, day off, holidays required, and weekends as needed. Rotating call : Monday-Friday 6 PM-11 PM, Saturday / Sunday 7 AM-11 PM

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week, 4x10s

Experience : 3 to 5 years of nursing experience, including critical care

License : RN License

Certifications : BLS & ACLS

Must-Have : Ability to handle unexpected emergencies during radiological procedures; ensure patient privacy, dignity, and safety

Job Description :

• Provide quality nursing care to both inpatients and outpatients in the department of radiology, including pediatric, adult, elderly, acutely, and chronically ill patients.
• Comply with policies and procedures to provide optimal patient care utilizing the nursing process.
• Prioritize patient needs and function as a patient advocate.
• Assess the biological, psychological, sociological, and cultural needs of the patient and the family.
• Monitor patient condition, including vital sign monitoring and recognition of electrocardiogram changes, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Recognize, document, and assist in the treatment of contrast reactions.
• Intervene in emergency situations.
• Assist radiologists with special procedures and treatments that require professional nursing skills.
• Administer conscious sedation and monitor patients as appropriate.
• Assess need for and administer other medication as appropriate.
• Provide continuity of care for critically ill patients.
• Demonstrate skill in using special equipment such as monitors, infusion pumps, oxygen equipment, ventilators, etc.
• Document patient status and nursing interventions.
• Comply with patient identification protocol.
• Demonstrate ability to prioritize nursing responsibilities within the department.
• Provide health teaching and procedural information to patients and families.
• Possess knowledge of all areas of nursing practice.
• Demonstrate mature judgment, initiative, and proficiency in nursing skills.
• Ability to work without direct supervision.
• Show professional interest through self-development, continuing education, and involvement in professional organizations.
• Knowledgeable in physical assessment, aseptic techniques, IV skills, and universal precautions.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Computer skills required.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
