Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a Systems Engineering Manager 2 to serve a leadership role on the Support & Training (S&T) Segment Systems Engineering Team of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) program. This position will be located in Roy, UT. What you will get to do : perform as the control account manager (CAM) for the entire S&T SEIT organization scope, managing a 1500-line IMS, 5 control accounts, and hundreds of millions of dollars in scope. Understand the tasks each team is performing, ensure EVMS compliance, and build relationships between the team, segment leadership, and the business management office. In addition to the primary CAM role, this role will often be asked to lead a small team performing special engineering initiatives to investigate efficiencies or perform short term high priority work. This position is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of up to 10 engineers while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. The candidate will spend ~20% of their time on functional / organizational support and ~80% of their time on systems engineering technical program work.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9 / 80. The 9 / 80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. You'll bring these qualifications : bachelor's degree in STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) with 6+ years of related technical experience, at least 1 year experience of control account management (CAM) and earned value management (EVM) leading a project and / or driving performance against schedule, 2 years of systems engineering and / or integration & test experience, at least 1 year experience leading a project and / or driving performance against schedule, experience with earned value (EV) methodologies and their role in the work performed. Must be a US citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application with an investigation completed within the last 6 years. Must have an ability to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.

These qualifications would be nice to have : 2 years EVMS experience. 4 plus years of both systems engineering and integration and test processes. Experience with the following tools : CAMEO, DOORS, Confluence, JIRA, MS Project, and Primavera. Ability to operate independently with little to no supervision, and the ability to establish a solid working relationship with technical staff, peers, and customers. Additional experience with support equipment, sustainment activities, ICBM programs and / or strategic weapons programs. Active DoD Top Secret Clearance with SAP, and / or SCI access.

Primary level salary range : $135,100.00 - $202,700.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for long-term incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and / or personal business.
