Description
This candidate will be responsible for providing legal administrative support across and assisting the General Counsel and various departments with risk and claims management for Broussard Brothers, Inc. and its affiliate and related entities.
Responsibilities
- Claims Management and Coordination
- Interface with internal departments, insurers and third-party adjusters as appropriate in the event of an incident or claim
- Ensure a timely and proper transfer of claims management following initial response.
- Manage claims of employees who are unable to return to full duty following an incident.
- Coordinate the return-to-duty process and light duty accommodations for injured employees
- Track physician appointments and work status documents
- Manage communication between the employee and internal departments and keep parties informed as to developments or any change(s) in status
- Manage asset and third-party property damage claims.
- Facilitate the evaluation of damage and the estimated cost to repair
- Coordinate remedial actions as necessary
- Claims Administration
- Facilitate claims procedures, resolution and closeout actions.
- Coordinate internally and interface with third parties as needed to advance the process
- Track and monitor incidents and claims
- Maintain claims files and ensure timely completion, filing and reporting of any necessary notices, forms, etc.
- Review and process various invoices and other payments, manage expense records and track insurance deductibles
- Maintain communication with various internal and external parties to stay up to date and keep interested parties informed
- Legal Department Support
- Litigation assistance
- Coordinate with internal and external counsel as needed and gather responsive documents for discovery requests and subpoenas
- Coordinate employee interviews and depositions
- Process legal invoices for payment
- Assistance with compliance activities
- Administration of corporate business filings and regulatory licensing compliance
- Insurance requests and documentation
- Maintenance of corporate records
- Assist with contract administration and document management
- Respond to requests for information
- Perform legal research as necessary
- Provide administrative support
- Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by General Counsel and ancillary to or similar in scope to the above.
Competencies / Experience Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree and completion of an ABA-approved paralegal studies program1-3 years of relevant legal or work experienceExcellent organizational, prioritization and time management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExcellent verbal, written and communication skillsAbility to learn new techniques, multi-task, follow instructions, and comply with company policies and proceduresStrong computer skillsPreferred Qualifications
