Full Stack Developer

Philadelphia, PA 19103 (hybrid)

Pay : $90,000-$110,000

Overview

The role involves designing, developing, and testing software for the SportsZone project within the Merlin metadata platform. The developer will support ingest and tooling efforts, ensuring middleware applications hosted in AWS cloud are operational, secure, and efficient.

Key Responsibilities

  • Code software applications supporting internal business or customer requirements, standardizing quality assurance procedures.
  • Oversee testing phases and develop fixes for software issues.
  • Monitor and maintain operational readiness of middleware applications, including those hosted in AWS.
  • Identify system enhancement opportunities to improve functionality or simplify administration.
  • Facilitate and develop plans for application changes, including defect fixes, enhancements, and configuration adjustments.
  • Configure and test system changes, including reports, security settings, and workflow modifications.
  • Collaborate closely with BA / QA teams to create test plans and ensure issues are properly identified, fixed, and retested.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures in software development.
  • Ability to mentor team members on coding practices, design principles, and implementation patterns.
  • Moderate-level skills in building scalable services (SOAP and REST).
  • Experience with the Core Spring Framework and sub-projects such as Spring JMS, Spring Security, Spring Data, and Spring Integration.
  • Skilled in building modern REST Web services.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python and Ruby is a plus.
  • Experience consuming API / web-based services.
  • Familiarity with HTTP and TCP / IP protocols.
  • Creative and able to operate with a degree of latitude.
  • Preferred Skills

  • Experience with cloud hosting solutions, particularly AWS.
  • Ability to coordinate configuration changes in production environments.
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration ability.
