Accountant II
Loudoun County's Department of Transportation and Capital Infrastructure (DTCI) is seeking a proactive, talented, detailed and highly motivated individual to serve as an Accountant II in one of the fastest growing counties in the nation. Job responsibilities include : Assistance with monthly submissions of NVTA, Federal, and State reimbursement requests. Coordination of timely closure of capital projects between multiple departments. Departmental fixed asset and fleet management. Financial reconciliation between Trimble project management software and Oracle Fusion. Staff and vendor training in Oracle and / or Trimble. Preparing, analyzing and publishing departmental financial reports and dashboards. Financial redistributions and corrective actions in both Oracle and Trimble. Monitoring and quality control over financial processes. Initiation of accounts receivable transactions. Oversight of accounts payable fiscal year close-out efforts to ensure deadlines are met. Processing capital payments. Assisting with departmental purchasing activities. The ideal candidate will : Have experience with financial reporting and dashboards. Power BI experience is a plus. Have prior experience with enterprise financial software. Oracle experience is a plus. Have prior experience with project management solutions. Demonstrate prior experience reconciling financial accounts. Possess strong Excel skills and proficiency in Office 365 applications. Have experience with initiating purchase orders and / or invoice payments. Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Demonstrate strong customer service skills. Interact professionally with staff and vendors. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess a strong work ethic. This position is eligible for partial telework in accordance with County and Department policies. Salary commensurate with experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; two (2) years of related work experience preferably in government accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will undergo criminal, credit, and driving background checks. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license. Proficiency and comfort with financial and / or project management software solutions is preferred. Prior work experience in a design or construction environment is ideal.
