Job description

About the Opportunity :

I’m currently partnering with a well-established general contractor in the Seattle area that’s looking to bring on a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts across a diverse portfolio of commercial projects.

This contractor has a strong reputation in the Pacific Northwest, delivering work in commercial, multifamily, hospitality, healthcare, industrial, and tenant improvement sectors. The position offers a great balance of hands-on estimating, team leadership, and client collaboration, all within a company that values innovation, quality, and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee estimating efforts for negotiated and competitive bid projects
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and subcontractor proposals
  • Collaborate closely with preconstruction and project management teams to build accurate budgets
  • Mentor and develop junior estimators and preconstruction staff
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead value-engineering discussions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Participate in presentations, bid interviews, and client meetings
  • Contribute to refining estimating systems, tools, and processes

Ideal Background

  • 8+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction
  • Proven success leading estimates from conceptual through final bid
  • Strong understanding of construction divisions, means, and methods
  • Experience mentoring or managing other estimators
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, SmartBid, or similar tools
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture preferred
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and leadership skills
