Summary :
Under the supervision of a physician / provider and / or a licensed healthcare professional, facilitates efficient patient flow through numerous phases of a patient’s visit. Provides medical practice support to members of the healthcare team through clinical and clerical tasks, including performing patient-related medical tasks for infant through geriatric patients as defined within the Ohio Administrative Code. Participates in Ambulatory Network initiatives to support high quality patient care across the care continuum. Contributes to interprofessional collaboration to address individual patient care needs through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision-making. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.
Qualifications :
Required : HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Meets one of the following :
Preferred : 6 months of clerical experience, and / or experience related to patient care. Active certification as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through National Healthcare Association (NHA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through American Medical Technologists (AMT). Possesses one of the following :
Physical Requirements : May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and walk intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push / pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
