Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor - CADC / CADCI

SUMMARY : Responsible to ensure that competent, safe quality and professional care is provided to each of the patients assigned to his / her caseload or other team members (in their absence), in accordance with current Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Utilize knowledge of chemical dependency and counseling techniques to introduce effective education and counseling for patients under his / her care and in each unit under other clinical staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Provides quality care to the assigned patients, in terms of compliance with facility expectations, SMA and other licensing boards assuring effectiveness of the therapeutic services.
• Conducts individual and group counseling to meet treatment plan goals and objectives.
• Produce a clear and concise documentation in all services including, but not limited to : Admit note, assessment, daily charting, weekly clinical review, staffing notes, treatment plans updates, biopsychosocial, transition and discharge planning, documentation of family sessions as needed and all summaries.
• Responsible for appropriate referral to each patient in need, open clear and ethical communication with referral sources : follow-up of each of his / her cases after discharge.
• Motivates patients for change, effectively performs crisis interventions, screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, counseling (group, individual, family).
• Appropriately and professionally provides case management, patient education, and keep clear, ethical and confidential reports and record keeping. Interacts and relates with peers and other professionals to assure comprehensive and quality of care for the patients.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES : None. Reports to the Program Director and work closely with all clinical team.
