EDCO Fabrication, a leader in fabrication in Frederick, Maryland is looking for a Press Brake Operator to join our team.

The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 6 : 30 am - 3 : 00 pm.

Good attendance is paramount to being successful in this role.

Salary Range : $20.23 - $24.72 per hour

Role and Responsibilities

Responsible for the daily setup and operation of a CNC controlled press brake using state of the art Brake tooling in a fabrication shop with some assistance provided. May be required to assist other operators as a helper on other machines as required. This is a cross functional position within the Sheet Metal department.

  • Set up and operate a hydraulic press for routine established work
  • Accurately set up and install pem hardware using a press machine
  • Select correct tooling for the job task with setup documents or supervisor / lead assistance
  • Load, install and correctly set up the tools required with some assistance from supervisor / lead
  • Must read and understand layouts, job packets and blue prints for parts being fabricated, even if it is a repeat job. This includes understanding of dimensions and tolerances of finished parts
  • Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations
  • Safely operate a forklift to handle materials and completed work
  • Properly Identify gauges
  • Maintain customer tolerances +- .030
  • Follow traveler process and confirm quantities
  • Make routine decisions and use problem solving to resolve basic manufacturing issues or seek assistance
  • Participate in press and tooling preventative maintenance at the operator level
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Incumbent shall have a strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background as well as basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press and / or punch operations including basic set up. A minimum of two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired. Must be competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools while demonstrating competency in basic shop math.

  • Routine bending and squatting to get parts off pallets and return finished parts to pallet

  • Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids

  • Ability to operate a forklift

  • Work Environment :

    A warehouse setting with concrete floors may also be presented. The temperature will vary with the seasons (hot / cold). The use of stairs may be necessary, yet an elevator is available. The noise level is loud.
