Job Location
New England Area – Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA, or Rocky Hill, CT.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for a variety of utility design related projects, including treatment plants, pump / booster stations, water line and collection line design, rehabilitation, master planning, and construction administration.
- Create designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings.
- Work under supervision of a project manager in the water / wastewater / water resources practice or senior level team members.
- Utilize basic engineering principles, judgment, theories, practices, and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems.
- Work on routine or detailed engineering assignments involving calculations and engineering analyses.
- Perform work with increasing responsibility and propose approaches to solve new problems.
- Identify discrepancies in outcomes, results, and analysis of engineering tasks.
- Participate in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables and provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
- Record and interpret data, conduct analyses, prepare reports, and compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Perform data gathering site visits, field measurements, mapping, and observations during construction.
- Provide construction support for review of shop drawings, requests for information, and site visits to the construction.
- Perform quality control reviews of design calculations or drawings.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA / BS degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.2+ years of experience in planning, modeling, and / or design of water, wastewater, and stormwater utility projects.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to obtain in 6 months.Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review.Preferred Qualifications
Progressive experience with water / wastewater utility planning, modeling, condition assessment, and design.Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include AutoCAD, GIS, hydrologic / hydraulic models).Demonstrated time management skills, work ethic, and attention to detail.Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to coordinate with technicians, designers, engineers, project managers, clients, subconsultants, regulatory agencies, and the public as needed.Ability to work productively in a collaborative team environment and demonstrate growth potential and a desire to learn.Detail oriented while understanding the big picture and able to multi-task and work independently; flexible to shifting priorities / work schedules.Additional Information
This position does not offer relocation assistance.Sponsorship for US Employment Authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90,000 $110,000
