We are seeking an experienced Program Director to oversee the full scope of our residential and day support operations, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure that all services meet the highest standards of care, compliance, and accountability.
Position Summary :
The Program Director (PD) plays a vital leadership role in planning, organizing, and directing all programs and operations at Tranquility Residential Services. This position oversees staff supervision, program compliance, budgeting, and coordination with local, state, and federal agencies. The PD ensures that all programs align with the organizations mission, state licensing regulations, and person-centered principles of service delivery. This position reports to the Executive Director and supervises the Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP), Residential Managers, and Direct Support Staff.
Key Responsibilities :
- Direct the implementation of federal, state, local, and company policies.
- Develop, manage, and evaluate long-range service plans and new program initiatives.
- Oversee the operation of all company programs and ensure programmatic and fiscal accountability.
- Prepare and manage the agency budget, financial reports, and contractual compliance.
- Supervise program and residential staff, including QDDPs, managers, and consultants.
- Review and approve Individual Support Plans (ISPs), incident reports, and restraint documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Ensure strict adherence to human rights regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate and lead staff training, professional development, and team meetings.
- Maintain liaison with DBHDS, licensing bodies, and funding agencies.
- Develop, administer, and monitor contracts for external service providers.
- Conduct regular program assessments, audits, and performance evaluations.
- Maintain ongoing awareness of developments and best practices in the field of developmental disabilities.
- Serve as the on-call administrative contact for emergency situations.
- Represent the organization at community, civic, and professional events.
Required Knowledge and Skills :
Comprehensive knowledge of developmental disability programs and regulations.Strong understanding of program management, budgeting, and compliance.Familiarity with individualized service planning, person-centered approaches, and staff supervision.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple programs, meet deadlines, and maintain collaborative relationships with external agencies.Strong report writing and presentation skills.Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field (Masters preferred).Minimum 3 years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience leading human services teams.Knowledge of Virginia DBHDS regulations, Medicaid waiver standards, and licensing requirements.Must possess valid drivers license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass background checks and health screenings.Competencies :
