Job Description & Requirements Specialty : Correctional Discipline : RN Start Date : 11 / 11 / 2025 Duration : 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift : 12 hours, days Employment Type : Travel Registered Nurse (RN) Location : 209 County Road AO49, Torrance, Estancia, NM 87016 Facility Type : Correctional Facility Start Date : 11 / 11 / 2025 Shift : 3x12 Days | 36 hours per week Contract Duration : 13 Weeks Clearance : U.S. Citizenship required for clearance (may start with ICE clearance pending) Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care, executes provider orders, administers medications, and assists in examinations and treatments for inmate / resident populations. The RN ensures compliance with clinical and correctional policies, maintains security standards, and delivers quality healthcare in collaboration with licensed independent providers and facility staff. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, patient assessments, and emergency response. Attend sick call with the physician, assist with examinations, and prepare treatment areas and equipment. Operate pill call and document medication distribution in accordance with facility procedures. Supervise and guide LPN / LVN and non-licensed staff to ensure quality nursing care. Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate early release when appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and security of all medical records and facility information. Conduct health counseling and education for inmates / residents. Assist with audits, chart reviews, and compliance with pharmacy and formulary regulations. Evaluate and document inmate / resident behavior and health status. Participate in emergency and disaster response within the facility. Support accreditation processes (NCCHC / ACA / JCAHO) and assist with safety reporting and incident documentation. Qualifications Required : Graduate from an accredited nursing program (degree or diploma in Nursing). Current RN licensure in the state of New Mexico. Valid Driver’s License. U.S. Citizenship (required for clearance). Preferred : One (1) year of professional nursing experience, preferably in a correctional or acute care setting. Additional Information 36-hour weekly guarantee; must maintain open availability per CoreCivic scheduling policy. 13-week initial contract, with potential for extension. Auto offer based on qualifications and compliance.
