Job description

Director / Managing Director – New England Market

Boston, MA (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite, flexible office setup)

Director : $200K+ base + Bonus + LTI | Managing Director : $300K+ base + Bonus + LTI

Are you ready to be the face of a growing national tax advisory firm in New England? This is a unique opportunity to step in as the market leader —building the Boston presence from the ground up, shaping the team, and advising some of the region’s most sophisticated clients.

If you’re a seasoned tax professional with ASC 740 expertise, proven client development success, and a drive to lead, this role offers a rare chance to build, grow, and own a market.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead expansion into the New England market (MA, NH, VT, RI, ME, northern CT).
  • Drive new client acquisition and grow existing relationships.
  • Advise executives on complex tax strategies, with deep focus on ASC 740.
  • Partner with national specialty teams (international, SALT, automation, transfer pricing, credits / incentives).
  • Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing local tax team.
  • Serve as a visible thought leader, representing the firm in the market.
  • What You Bring

  • 15+ years of tax experience, ideally from Big 4 or national firms.
  • Extensive ASC 740 experience, with large-company clients (tech, life sciences, manufacturing preferred).
  • Proven success in business development and client relationship expansion.
  • Strong leadership skills with a track record of building and developing teams.
  • CPA or Master’s in Tax strongly preferred.
