Position Overview :
The Mechanical General Superintendent will oversee all field operations for large-scale commercial HVAC projects, including warehouses, hospitals, office buildings, and other major facilities. This position requires extensive knowledge of complex mechanical systems such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and hydronic systems. The ideal candidate will ensure that all projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications, budget, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise and coordinate all field activities related to HVAC installation and mechanical systems on commercial projects.
- Oversee multiple foremen and field crews, ensuring adherence to project plans, safety standards, and company procedures.
- Manage schedules, manpower, materials, and equipment to maintain productivity and project milestones.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and other Superintendents to ensure seamless project execution.
- Review mechanical drawings, submittals, and specifications to ensure proper installation and system performance.
- Conduct job site inspections and meetings to monitor quality, progress, and compliance with safety regulations.
- Resolve field issues and coordinate design or scope changes with the project team.
- Mentor field personnel and promote a culture of accountability, safety, and craftsmanship.
- Track daily progress, report production metrics, and communicate updates to project leadership.
- Ensure commissioning readiness of HVAC systems, including testing, balancing, and start-up coordination.
Qualifications :
10+ years of experience in mechanical or HVAC construction, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or superintendent role.Strong technical knowledge of large commercial HVAC systems, including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, air handling units, and associated controls.Proven ability to manage multiple projects or large crews simultaneously.In-depth understanding of mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proficiency in construction scheduling software and field reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).OSHA 30 certification preferred.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various project sites.Compensation & Benefits :
