Our client, a progressive cloud accounting firm, is seeking a REMOTE Senior Accountant, Advisor to join their growing team. You will work on a portfolio of clients, while intimately getting to know them and their businesses, while working for a firm focused on building relationships with its clients.
Regular Responsibilities Include :
Your tasks in this role will vary from day to day. Our clients have has built-in, recurring deadlines that need to be met. They keep routine but avoid the mundane.
- Advise clients on their small business accounting and tax needs, including being the point of contact for your book of clients
- Review data recorded during the period by the bookkeeper and close the books monthly / quarterly; prepare reports on both a cash and accrual basis with financial analysis notes sent to the client
- Create and maintain workpapers for clients
- Prepare tax projections on a monthly / quarterly basis with ongoing planning and research for our clients, including entity structure and retirement contribution tax strategies
- Sales tax preparation
- Annual income tax preparation (individual and business)
- Budget and forecasting preparation and analysis
- Payroll oversight via Gusto, including onboarding new employees, terminating employees, managing payroll integrations with the accounting software for proper mapping, troubleshooting payroll notices, and new client setups
- Oversee A / R and A / P, handled by bookkeeper
- Bank, credit card, merchant account, clearing account, and other balance sheet account reconciliations, as needed
- Record bank, credit card, and merchant account information in the general ledger via bank feeds in our client’s accounting software
- As needed, troubleshoot various software integrations (Xero, QBO, HubDoc, Expensify, Zapier, Shopify, Square, Stripe, etc)

30% Book review of bookkeeping / sales tax (books prepared by internal staff, clients' self-prepared books, or books prepared by outside bookkeepers~35% tax planning / CAS (working with our tax planning clients in meetings, tax strategy, preparing projections / estimates for our tax planning and bookkeeping clients)~35% tax prep during tax season (during season, the day is basically 90-100% tax prep only)Qualifications :
