About The Position

Job Title : CVOR Surgical Technician

Profession : Surgical Tech

Shift : 8-Hour Days with Call

Hours per Shift : 40 hours per week

Experience : Minimum 2 years

License : WA state license required for CVOR Tech

Certifications : BLS required

Must-Have :

COVID vaccine required

Description :

Unit has 4 CVOR suites.

Average number of cases per day is between 22-45 across all specialties.

Cath lab and CVOR are in close proximity.

Cath lab nurses run wires and circulating CVOR nurses are on standby for vascular cases that go open.

Robotics experience is preferred but not required.

Training on robotic procedures will be provided if necessary.

Certifications for RN include BLS and ACLS.

Technicians need BLS and WA state license; national certification is not required.

EMR system in use is EPIC.

Charge nurse is present on every shift to cover both Main and CVOR.

Equal experience requirements apply for all surgical techs.

Weekend shifts and call times are detailed, with regular rotations in place.

Call requirement for techs is typically 8-9 call days per month.

Weekend call options include 12-hour days, 12-hour nights, and 24-hour backup.

Response time for call requires a 30-minute window.

Holiday coverage is managed through a rotation system.

Surgical team has a TeleSurgeon on-call service for after-hours needs.

IV and pharmacy teams are available 24 / 7.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, with variations between 8, 10, and 12 hours.

Block scheduling is permitted.

Floating between CVOR and Main OR may be required based on experience.

Common types of cases include standard cardiac cases, catheterizations, and thoracic surgeries.

Willingness to learn robotic procedures is essential.

Scrubbing is preferred for RNs but not mandatory.

Housing may present challenges, but support for scheduling is available.

Cancellation policy allows for a certain number of shift cancellations during the assignment.
