Overview
The Medical Records Specialist will be responsible for receiving and processing medical records requests for all Amerita locations. Under the supervision of the Director of RCM Credit Balances, the Medical Records Specialist will also perform quality assurance checks of all medical documentation before submission and notifies respective parties.
Schedule : Monday - Friday
8 : 30am - 5 : 30pm

Responsibilities
Ensures daily goals for cash collections, credit balances, accounts payable, and other departmental goals as outlinedAdheres to all applicable state and federal regulations and company policiesProcesses all incoming medical records requests and coordinates approval with PharMerica’s legal teamCompiles medical documentation and records responses in CPR+Prepares outgoing medical record packets and tracks payer receiptIdentifies issues and trends to managementMaintains CPR+ Document Management System to include scanning and attaching documentsCoordinates established performance metrics for the Medical Records SpecialistServes as backup for the Correspondence Specialist and Reimbursement Support Specialist during times of absenceMonitors fax queue and answers and routes phonesQualifications
High School Diploma or GED; some college desiredOne year of experience in medical collections and automated billing systems; CPR+ and Zirmed preferredKnowledge of Managed Care, Commercial Insurance, Medicare and Medicaid Reimbursement; Home Infusion experience is a plusStrong communication, time management, and customer service skillsFamiliarity with Microsoft Office
