Overview

Working onsite at Microsoft Data Center

A Data Center Technician you will handle hardware installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance within a data center environment. This includes tasks like rack and stack equipment, cable management, hardware diagnostics, and minor repairs. You may also assist in larger projects and document procedures.

Core Duties

• Hardware Installation and Decommissioning : This includes physically installing, configuring, and decommissioning servers, network devices, and other data center equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Repair : Diagnosing and resolving hardware and networking issues, performing component-level repairs, and potentially handling basic software issues.
• Rack and Stack : Mounting, connecting, and configuring racks, ensuring correct cabling and power connections.
• Cable Management : Installing, labeling, and troubleshooting fiber, copper, and other cabling infrastructure.
• Documentation : Creating and maintaining detailed documentation of procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
• Inventory : Managing inventory of hardware components, ordering replacements, and handling returns.
