Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join our dental team. The EDDA will play a vital role in delivering high quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, performing advanced clinical tasks, and ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and is certified in expanded functions as defined by state regulations.

Qualifications

Education
Dental Assistant Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. X-Ray certified, CPR certified.
Software Utilized
Experience with basic office and database computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint and the internet. Thorough understanding of dental software or willingness to learn.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
Participation in training related to HIV and related issues. Understanding of Harm Reduction Model and Motivational Interviewing. Cultural Competency / Sensitivity. Excellent communication and organizational skills. This position requires personal and professional accountability, self-management, initiative, and commitment to quality improvement and ethics. Must demonstrate accuracy, efficiency, and ability to manage tasks, work in teams, and communicate with staff, managers, clients, and patients.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
Works in an office environment and may travel to offsite locations. Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds, clear speaking ability, and ability to use a computer for extended periods. Hand skills for dental procedures. May involve light cleaning tasks.
