Job Title : Community Outreach Coordinator

Job Position : Full-Time Salary

Pay Range : $40,000 - $43,000 annual based on experience

Position Summary

The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for building, supporting, and maintaining MindsEye constituent and community partner relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Marketing and Communications : Manage social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram by creating and scheduling posts, as well as engaging with followers and other partner organizations
  • Table and organize volunteers to support tabling events
  • Write and distribute press releases and PSA's relating to MindsEye events, services, and achievements to internal and external stakeholders
  • Be present in the community which MindsEye serves by attending networking and community events that benefit new and long-term partnerships
  • Build relationships with media, local churches, libraries, healthcare and social service agencies, and service organizations, such as the Lions and Rotary Clubs
  • Conduct tours of MindsEye on request
  • Share upcoming events with community partners
  • Write and distribute press releases
  • Programs and Organizational Support : Process new client applications, mail welcome materials and devices when necessary, and follow-up with clients according to program timelines
  • Support listener outreach / marketing by attending community events and meetings
  • Support in-person volunteer readers and other broadcast duties as necessary
  • Assist with the distribution and processing of client surveys
  • Attend Gateway Archers beep baseball practices and tournaments
  • Help coordinate media opportunities for blind and partially sighted reporters
  • Answer phone calls and direct callers to the appropriate person
  • Assist with special events, such as Soirée, BeepBall tournaments, and Movie Night such as making in-kind donation requests, planning and execution of event tasks
  • Executing other duties and special projects as assigned

  • Experience working with people from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including comfort interacting by phone, email, and in person
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to organize, plan and carry out multiple activities both independently and as part of a team to meet goals and deadlines
  • Exhibit a positive, collaborative attitude, with the ability to adapt to changing organizational needs
  • Communicate openly, tactfully, and honestly with staff, volunteers, board, donors, and other key constituents
  • Strong ethical conduct with an ability to uphold the confidentiality of client and donor records
  • Experience and Requirements

  • Two years of administrative, social media, nonprofit, or other related work experience
  • Must have strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, Zoom, and similar products, accurate data entry skills a plus
  • Must be willing to travel to events around the St. Louis Metro East area and, on occasion, Springfield, IL
  • All items listed above are considered essential functions of the job and the candidate must be able to complete all to succeed
  • Reliable transportation to and from office, venues, and meetings is required

  • Hours and Schedule

  • Must work in office for at least 16 hours per week
  • Occasional nights and weekends
  • Some local and out-of-town travel to events and venues is required
  • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off
