POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Infrastructure Project Manager to join our Professional Services team. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in project management within the IT infrastructure space, preferably with experience working at a Managed Service Provider (MSP). As the Infrastructure Project Manager at Sourcepass, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of complex infrastructure projects for our clients, ensuring seamless implementation and transition of IT environments. Your role will require close coordination with internal technical teams, proactive client management, and a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget. The salary for this position is $80,000+ (negotiable based on experience).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously, ensuring all milestones are achieved and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering and support teams to ensure timely provisioning, deployment, and configuration of IT infrastructure components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, and equipment prep and shipping, to deliver outstanding service and solutions to clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle, promptly addressing concerns and providing updates.
  • Track and report on key performance metrics related to infrastructure project delivery, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings with clients to ensure requirements are being met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Oversee the transition, migration, or decommissioning of IT infrastructure, coordinating with internal teams for seamless execution.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding data security, privacy, and infrastructure management.
  • Work closely with clients to understand business needs and translate them into detailed infrastructure project plans and objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and internal technical teams, facilitating communication and ensuring alignment on project goals.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring adherence to timelines and resource constraints.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Escalate critical project risks or issues to senior management when appropriate.
  • Communicate project status, challenges, and resolutions to clients and internal stakeholders through reports, meetings, and presentations.
  • Conduct post-project reviews to evaluate project outcomes, capture lessons learned, and drive process improvements for future initiatives.

Technical Expertise

  • Demonstrated experience in infrastructure project management, in a client-facing role within the IT or managed services industry.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, including on-premises and cloud environments, networking, and security principles.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with senior system engineers to assess technical feasibility, identify challenges, and propose effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure management platforms and tools (e.g., ConnectWise PSA preferred).
  • Participation in technical discussions and solution design.
  • Team Management and Leadership

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects concurrently.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, able to build rapport and credibility with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Motivate and guide teams of engineers, fostering collaboration and a productive work environment.
  • Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and establish clear expectations and support.
  • Ensure accurate daily time logging and ticketing for all project resources.
  • Client Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, clearly communicating project progress, scope, and any challenges encountered.
  • Manage client expectations and proactively resolve concerns.
  • Gather and document client requirements and translate them into actionable infrastructure project plans.
  • Present project status and updates to clients and internal resources in a clear, concise manner.
  • Additional Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of infrastructure project management methodologies and best practices within the MSP.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, infrastructure technologies.
  • DESIRED SKILLSET / EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as an infrastructure project manager in an IT environment, ideally at a Managed Service Provider.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, including Statements of Work (SOW).
  • Experience working in a services organization with client billable hours requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing complex on-prem and cloud infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and best practices.
  • Expertise in identifying and mitigating project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Solid knowledge of IT infrastructure, including cloud platforms, network management, and security.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Leadership and team management skills to schedule, motivate, and guide engineers.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to address project challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven ability to document and share technical information clearly and concisely.
