Responsibilities Work within a hospital setting on a med / surg and stroke unit Care management role covering acute inpatient medical-surgical and stroke patients Patient caseload ranges from 18 to 22 on the Menino Campus Uses Epic EMR system Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week with no fixed day off Works every 6th weekend and is not required to work major holidays Perform comprehensive patient assessments, care planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to promote quality and cost-effective outcomes Manage length of stay and resource utilization efficiently while determining medical necessity and appropriateness of admission Utilize InterQual screening and Medicare inpatient lists Must pass Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test A or B (can be taken twice) Two professional references required, one from a manager and including recent performance evaluations No dress code or scrub color specified Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers Parking information is available through the employer's parking office Requirements Active MA RN license required at time of consideration Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required Minimum of 3 years' acute inpatient case management experience, with extensive background in med / surg practice Experience working in a Level 1 Trauma hospital required Strong knowledge of current med / surg practice patterns, acute care, and inpatient methods for assessing physical and mental impairment Prior experience utilizing Epic EMR required Knowledge of benefits, plan contracts, eligibility issues, and utilization management strongly preferred Preferred experience : 5 years in utilization management and care management Preferred certifications : CCM or related Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628123.
