We are Pangea Reptile, and we are looking to add another member to our Live Animals Care Team! We primarily care for Crested Geckos, which led us to the creation of our award-winning Pangea Complete Crested Gecko Diet.

Required : Some Weekends and Holidays. We strive to ensure our reptiles health, which means sometimes working Holidays and Weekends.

Schedule : Part Time - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. 8am-4pm

Primary Responsibilities : As a Live Animals Caretaker you would work in the Live Animal Department and be responsible for the overall health and well-being of the animals which include primarily geckos and isopods. You will handle geckos on a daily basis : feeding, watering, cleaning enclosures, and helping with the isopods as needed.

However, you will also be responsible for being a part of a team. You will seek to improve not just your role within your department, but also your departments role within Pangea.

• Reptile care experience preferred but not required. We will train the right person.

Essential Job Functions :

• Prepares diets and maintains accurate records of animals.
• Physically inspect animals and observe behavior.
• Appropriately cleans / disinfects animal enclosures / habitats.
• Stages and prepares enclosures, hides, and decor.
• Runs washer, maintains equipment, and prepares washroom.
• Weighs and tracks gecko progress as instructed.
• General maintenance and organization of the Live Animal department.
• Able to stand, bend, stoop and climb step ladders for entire shift.

Physical Demands : While performing duties of this job, would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Work might entail significant time spent standing, exposure to extreme temperatures, enduring distracting / uncomfortable sounds and noise levels, as well as exposure to potentially hazardous conditions and equipment. Must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. Employee may be required to climb stairs as needed to access various areas of the building. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus. Overtime may be necessary as workloads dictate. This may include weekdays, weekends and / or holidays.

Work Environments : Job requires dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
