Join our team of corrections professionals with the ND Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at James River Correctional Center (JRCC). We are looking for part-time Registered Nurse or License Practical nurse to help provide care for the JRCC population.
James River Correctional Center, in Jamestown ND, is a medium custody facility that houses male residents and is part of the North Dakota Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. The JRCC mission is to provide a safe environment to learn and practice skills necessary to be successful in the community.
Summary of Work
The individual will work as a team member in an infirmary / clinic setting and within the Medical and Psychiatric Service Program. The position requires a holistic approach to health care service with emphasis on health maintenance through patient education and positive self-initiative. Specific duties include but are not limited to : provision of health care nursing to the resident population; dispensing medication; emergency nursing care; participation in behavioral management procedures and infection control; thorough documentation of patient care and medical records; and individual, group and wellness education. This is a part time position with opportunities for mornings, days, and nights.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse or LPN by the ND Board of Nursing. Requires interpersonal skills and communication skills necessary to perform job duties and must have ability to work with an inmate population on a daily basis. Strong clinical skills required. Psychiatric, medical surgical, and critical care background preferred, but not necessary. Individual must be flexible and innovative in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Must successfully complete standard background and criminal record check and drug screening.
