Position Overview :
We’re seeking an experienced 1st Shift Production Supervisor to lead and engage a team within a high-volume bakery production environment. This role is responsible for driving daily production performance while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, people-focused, and committed to fostering a positive, productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities :
Oversee day-to-day bakery production operations, including workflow, scheduling, job assignments, and team rotations to ensure efficient output.
Manage headcount and labor hours to align with departmental budgets and production targets.
Train, coach, and develop employees through structured onboarding and ongoing feedback.
Promote a culture of respect, teamwork, and open communication across the department.
Monitor product quality and collaborate with Quality Assurance and R&D to ensure customer specifications are met.
Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMPs, SQF, and HACCP standards.
Review daily production reports for performance metrics such as schedule adherence, throughput, and efficiency.
Identify and implement process improvements focused on productivity, cost savings, and waste reduction.
Support workforce safety through active participation in training, corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Manage attendance, timekeeping, and performance accountability in partnership with HR and management.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sanitation, Quality, and Maintenance teams to address production challenges.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3 years of experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate production teams in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
Knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, HACCP, OSHA, and other food safety and quality programs.
Familiarity with FDA requirements preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
