Senior Accountant Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Newark, Delaware. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to contribute to critical financial operations, including monthly and quarterly closings, financial reporting, and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls. The ideal candidate will excel in analyzing data, improving processes, and collaborating across departments to drive organizational success. Responsibilities include overseeing and executing monthly and quarterly financial statement closings, ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions. Prepare detailed financial reports and analyses, identifying trends, variances, and root causes to support decision-making processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting challenges, support forecasting, and enhance planning functions. Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements by maintaining effective internal controls and adapting them as needed. Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements, leveraging emerging technologies to enhance efficiency. Lead special projects related to automation, regulatory changes, and process optimization. Provide support to internal and external auditors during audits, ensuring timely responses to data requests. Present financial results and insights to leadership, fostering clear communication and informed decision-making. Mentor and guide less experienced team members while promoting a collaborative and innovative work environment. Occasionally work overtime, weekends, or travel to meet business needs.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Proven experience in financial statement preparation and analysis. Strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley controls and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in data analysis, including working with large datasets to identify trends and variances. Ability to lead process improvement initiatives and manage special projects. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with cross-functional teams and leadership. Familiarity with emerging technologies and automation tools for financial processes. Willingness to work occasional overtime, weekends, or travel as required.
