About The Position We are seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Tennessee, starting Oct 20, 2025. This role offers day shifts, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. The assignment involves providing comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting while collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Job Details Location : Tennessee Start Date : Oct 20, 2025 LOA : 60 days Provider Type Needed : Family Nurse Practitioner Schedule : 8 hour day shifts, 40 hours per week Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive nursing care, including executing physicians orders, dispensing and administering medications, performing patient examinations and treatments Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess clinical problems and health care needs Record physical findings, formulate prognoses, and collaborate with physicians and health professionals to develop comprehensive patient care plans Recommend drugs and other forms of treatment within licensure scope Monitor inpatient hospitalizations and coordinate appropriate release timing Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area Assist with monitoring provision of all required contractual services Foster effective working relationships with facility staff, contract providers, and outside agencies Utilize established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures while exercising independent judgment Evaluate medical services to prevent inappropriate use or duplication Ensure security and confidentiality of medical records and verify documentation of services provided Monitor potential catastrophic illnesses and recommend interventions Suggest methods to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness of health services Audit pharmacy use and ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy laws Observe and record inmate or resident behavior Accept on-call status as required Provide health counseling and education individually or in groups Interpret medical and technical procedures, governmental regulations, and process legal documents as needed Review and respond to lawsuits through corporate counsel and attend court hearings if necessary Participate in multi-disciplinary committee meetings to promote and monitor healthcare quality Engage in secure functions, including working rotating shifts and verifying facility security Evaluate and recommend safety requirements for a secure working environment Additional Information Graduate of an accredited nursing program Current licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with family practice training in Tennessee Valid drivers license required Minimum one year of professional nursing experience US Citizenship required for ICE clearance; expedited process in place Candidates subject to thorough background and credit investigation Benefits Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities What are Locum Tenens Jobs?
