Hiring Range : $30.15 to $37.69 per hour

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Pay Grade : 112

Full Pay Range : $30.15 to $45.23

Position Summary : Predominantly performs residential and commercial plan review, conducts building and fire code inspections, conducts fire and explosion investigations, generates reports, serves / posts violations, conducts public presentations, and provides exceptional customer service.

Qualifications :

Education and / or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; six (6) years of journey level work experience in one or more of the construction trades with some experience in building safety fire protection; any equivalent combination of education, experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.

Licensing, Certification, and Other Requirements

Possess and maintain a valid Arizona driver's license; possess the International Code Council (ICC) Fire Inspector I certification; possess the ICC Fire Plans Examiner certification or obtain within twelve (12) months of hire; possess Arson I and II or obtain certifications within 24 months of hire; and obtain the preferred International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) Fire Investigation Technician (FIT) designation and / or IAAI Certified Fire Investigator (CFI).
