The HSE Specialist supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs across the organization. This role ensures compliance with OSHA, DOT, DEQ, and other regulatory standards, conducts audits and investigations, and delivers impactful training to promote a strong safety culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
· Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across field and facility operations.
· Develop and maintain Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), with adherence with applicable Company requirements.
· Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
· Deliver safety training (CPR, First Aid, OSHA topics, HAZWOPER, etc.) to employees and contractors.
· Maintain compliance with OSHA, DOT, DEQ, and other applicable regulations.
· Support and manage third-party safety registries (ISNetworld, Veriforce, PEC).
· Administer and track workers’ compensation claims and safety metrics (TRIR, EMR).
· Participate in and lead safety committees and roundtables.
· Escort regulatory inspectors and facilitate audits (internal and external).
· Prepare and submit safety reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
· Promote continuous improvement initiatives and a proactive safety culture.

REQUIREMENTS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES)
· Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) or equivalent certifications.
· Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred.
· OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification (OSHA Authorized Trainer preferred).
· HAZWOPER 40 Certification.
· CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor Certification.
· Forklift Instructor Certification.
· Familiarity with ISO 45001 / 14001 standards.
· Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and fleet safety programs.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
· Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Detail-oriented with a high level of observation.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
· Experience in culturally diverse work environments.
· Proven leadership in driving safety improvements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)
· Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, Environmental Health, or related field (master’s preferred).
· Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial safety, manufacturing, or related environments.
