Position Overview
The
Marketplace Marketing Manager
will drive execution of the marketing and promotional strategy across major third-party marketplaces including Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and others. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external marketplace partners, with the goal of increasing visibility, driving sales, maintaining key account metrics, and optimizing return on investment across channels.
Youll manage seasonal and evergreen promotional calendars, negotiate marketing placements, oversee ad performance, and collaborate with Purchasing, Creative, and Analytics teams to align on strategy and execution. Youll also be responsible for ensuring promotions launch on time and match agreed-upon terms, monitoring account health metrics, and help troubleshooting issues to maintain a top-tier seller status.
Key Responsibilities
Marketplace Promotions & Strategy
Plan, execute, and evaluate marketing and promotional strategies across Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and other marketplaces
Negotiate paid placements, deal events, and seasonal marketing opportunities with marketplace contacts
Coordinate product inclusion in major sales events (e.g., Prime Day, Black Friday) and ensure alignment with internal goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Purchasing, Marketing, and Operations teams to align inventory, timing, and focus skus / categories for each marketplace.
Coordinate execution timelines and deliverables across departments for campaign launches
Coordination with finance on on agreements and contracts to ensure payments for all agreements.
Advertising & Performance Analysis
Oversee marketplace advertising campaigns (e.g., Amazon Sponsored Products, eBay Promoted Listings, Walmart Connect)
Analyze advertising ROI and promotional effectiveness using platform and internal data tools
Identify performance trends and implement optimizations to improve revenue and margin targets
Execution & Compliance
Ensure all marketing and promotional campaigns are set up accurately and go live on time
Confirm all promotions match agreed-upon terms and are properly reflected on the platform
Maintain contract compliance and follow-through with all commitments made to marketplace partners
Track contract deliverables and ensure deadlines, creative, and budget elements are met
Account Health & Issue Resolution
Proactively identify and resolve issues related to listings, campaign delivery, or platform compliance
Escalate and troubleshoot with platform reps to resolve suppression flags, performance issues, and discrepancies
Serve as the key point of contact with marketplace partner teams for all marketing-related matters
Qualifications
35 years of experience in marketplace marketing, digital advertising, or e-commerce management
Strong working knowledge of Amazon Seller / Vendor Central, eBay Seller Hub, Walmart Marketplace, or similar platforms
Proven ability to manage promotional execution and maintain contract accuracy across multiple channels
Analytical mindset with ability to interpret data, solve problems, and drive ROI
Excellent attention to detail and follow-through on deliverables
Outstanding communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Experience in consumer electronics or a similar high-volume product category is a plus
