We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Patent Prosecution Docketing Paralegal to join our legal team. This is a permanent position that offers a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a professional to manage our patent prosecution docketing system. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining our IP docketing database, tracking intellectual property matter deadlines, verifying and docketing filings, and other patent prosecution processes. This role requires close coordination and communication with the team to ensure all docketing tasks are covered and works closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure dockets are current and accurate. This is a full time remote role. Candidates must reside in Texas to be considered.
Responsibilities :
1. Maintain the IP docketing database by reviewing and extracting information from incoming communications.
2. Track intellectual property matter deadlines in accordance with PTO rules and client-specific guidelines.
3. Verify and docket filings and other patent prosecution processes.
4. Coordinate and communicate with the team to ensure all docketing tasks are covered.
5. Work closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure dockets are current and accurate.
6. Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage complex patent prosecution tasks.
7. Ensure accuracy in calculating due dates and proofreading legal documents.
Qualifications :
1. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
2. A minimum of 5+ years of patent prosecution experience.
3. Demonstrated proficiency in proofreading and accurately calculating due dates.
4. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
5. Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to maintain a comprehensive IP docketing database.
7. Proven track record in tracking intellectual property matter deadlines, taking into consideration PTO rules and client-specific guidelines.
8. Experience in verifying and docketing filings and other patent prosecution processes.
9. Strong ability to coordinate and communicate with a team to ensure all docketing tasks are covered.
10. Experience in working closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure dockets are current and accurate.
