Mobile X-Ray Technologist (New Grads Accepted) - Houston, TX
Job Type : Full-Time
Shifts : Mon - Fri (10 am TO 7 pm)
Setting : On the road (Home Visits around Houston)
Job Summary :
The Mobile X-Ray Technologist will operate portable radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic x-ray procedures at off-site locations (e.g., nursing homes, assisted-living facilities, clinics, patient homes) within the Houston metro region. The role requires travel between multiple sites, ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to radiation protection standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Travel to assigned off-site locations and set up portable / mobile x-ray equipment appropriately.
Prepare the patient, explain the procedure, position the patient and equipment correctly to capture optimal diagnostic images.
Operate digital / portable x-ray machines, adjust exposure settings, ensure image quality, and check for technical adequacy.
Process and transmit images to the radiologist or imaging centre via PACS or agency-system.
Maintain radiation safety for patients, self, staff and bystanders by using shielding, proper distance, and following protocols.
Ensure equipment is functioning correctly, perform routine QC (quality control) checks, report any malfunctions or deviations.
Maintain patient records, complete required documentation, enter data into imaging systems and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience :
Associate's degree (or equivalent) in Radiologic Technology or related field.
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification (or equivalent) in Radiography.
State Texas Medical Board (TMB) licensure or eligibility for Radiologic Technologists in Texas.
Proven experience operating mobile or portable x-ray equipment or willingness to train.
Strong knowledge of digital imaging, PACS systems, exposure techniques, quality control and radiation safety.
Previous mobile imaging experience.
Skills in EKG, as crossover mobile services sometimes include combined duties.
Experience with infection control in field settings.
New graduates are also accepted.
