Summary

A Senior Engineer is a veteran project engineer with a deep level of engineering experience and expertise. While not responsible for basic design and drafting, they are staffed on complex projects as the lead project engineer, responsible for engineering and documenting high level systems and leading a team of other employees through project execution. They also assist others on their teams with complex project challenges, signoff on the quality of others' work, and serve as a teacher and mentor, responsible for growing the engineering expertise of their team.

Duties & Responsibilities

People

• Providing engineering mentorship to all technical employees on their teams.
• Holding all team members accountable for the quality of the work they produce and sharing immediate feedback.
• Providing feedback to Team Leaders on the quality of the work their team members are producing.
• Leading teams of employees to execute on projects. This includes delegating tasks plus reviewing and taking ownership of all work produced by their project team.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This role contains no direct supervisory responsibilities. However, they perform a key role with the team's technical development and quality control of reviewing the quality of each team member's work. Where repeated issues are found, they have a responsibility to bring these to the attention of the individual's Team Leader and work with the Team Leader to develop a plan to address.
