American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position on a night shift with a focus on cardiac and medical patients requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and tele experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in an acute care hospital setting on a 49-bed Medical / Surgical Telemetry unitPatient population includes CHF, COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetics, post cath, total joint replacements, CVA, and TIA casesNurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 5Nights, 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling subject to manager approvalRequired to work 2 weekends per 4-week scheduleHoliday coverage required for Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving, including specific eve and day expectationsRequired to float to East Campus and potentially PCU if qualifiedUses Cerner EMR; Cerner experience recommended due to limited orientationUnit equipped with BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatment equipmentTele / monitor techs present; RNs required to interpret and sign telemetry strips each shiftOne shift of unit-specific orientation is providedNavy blue scrubs are requiredWork closely with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, and tele / monitor techsNo titration of cardiac drips; set rate Cardizem drips are managedNo on-call or standby requirementsFirst to float policy appliesMust interpret and document telemetry strip readings at least once per shiftHoliday and weekend coverage is strictly enforced\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience requiredCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications requiredProficiency in reading basic tele strips and dysrhythmias requiredSome experience with CVA, TIA, and total joint replacement patients requiredMust pass a Relias dysrhythmia exam prior to contractCerner EMR experience recommendedCopy of driver's license requiredTwo references required : one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years including employment dates and rehire eligibilityMay not have been employed by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility full-time, part-time, or PRN within the past yearMust live at least 50 miles from the facility\n Benefits\n
