Job Summary
Our ferry and sightseeing operation is in need of an Electrician to service its New York fleet. This is a full time position with a growing company. The ideal candidate will excel in all responsibilities and help grow our business.
Job Duties
- Maintenance, repair, and upgrade electricals systems
- Low voltage electronics - 12v, 24v, 36v
Standard voltage - 110v / 120v
High Voltage - 208v, 220v, 480v
Maintenance, repair, and upgrade HVAC systemsUnderstand data cable and its functionsRun new wire for and maintenance of sound systemsUnderstand and produce wire diagrams as neededExecute plans of electrical wiring for well functioning lighting, intercom and other electrical systemsInstall electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment for alarm and other systemsInstall safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels etc.)Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of componentsPrepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through themPrevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.Diagnose various problems aboard our vessels and determine appropriate repair workAbility to source partsAbility to find contractors for specific repairs outside in house capabilityPerform tasks independentlyKnowledge of Coast Guard Regulations and ability to keep vessels in complianceDesired Background
At least 3 years as a marine electricianElectrician certification preferred, not requiredFamiliarity with marine applications and the marine environmentExperience with operation and maintenance of marine machineryAbility to work in adverse weather conditionsMust be able to lift and carry up to 60 poundsA physically demanding job requiring the ability to stand, reach, bend, stoop and walk up and down stairs and on uneven / moving surfacesShould have their own tools and vehicle to bring them to work locationMust have the weekends, on-call, and holiday availabilityJob hours may varyPre-employment background check, pre-employment and random drug testing required in accordance with Coast Guard regulationsJob Type : Full-time
Pay : $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
