Position : Senior Manager, Advanced Renewable Energy
Location : Denver, CO (preferred) or San Francisco Bay Area; San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Phoenix, AZ; Austin, TX or Remote option available

Responsibilities
- Lead requirements gathering, equipment design, and contracting for hardware to deploy at the Innovation Center, such as inverters, storage, and compute loads.
- Manage the installation, commissioning, and operations of equipment deployed at the Innovation Center.
- Develop and execute test plans at the Innovation Center.
- Oversee and perform data analysis. Translate analytical results into actionable insights.
- Assist deployment and initial operation of successful technologies into commercial plants.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ideate, identify, collect, and track new innovations through industry events, site visits, stakeholder engagement, networking, and self-guided research.Evaluate new technologies (hardware and software), execution methods, internal processes, finance and business model innovations. Perform comprehensive analysis to inform go / no-go decisions.Convene stakeholder meetings with vendors, entrepreneurs, and SB Energy colleagues to brainstorm ideas, report progress, host seminars, and foster a culture of innovation.Develop models and run simulations to inform techno-economic analyses and experimental design.Manage design, construction, and operations of technologies at the Innovation Center; provide day-to-day oversight and maintenance; travel to the Innovation Center as needed.Analyze demonstration data, derive insights, and present results to internal and external audiences.Prepare and present to Innovation stakeholders, including SB Energy executives.Assist creation and deployment of commercialization strategies for promising technologies.Support deployment of innovations into large-scale commercial projects and raise awareness of SB Energy and Innovation efforts in the industry.Perform other job duties as assigned; up to 25% domestic travel to the Innovation Center near Denver, CO.Qualifications
Minimum eight (8) years' professional experience in engineering or a technical role in renewable energy.B.S. in Engineering from ABET-accredited university or other technical degree; Master's or Doctorate a plus.Experience implementing innovations on large-scale renewable energy projects and / or managing small-scale field demonstrations.Broad experience across solar technologies, power conversion equipment, energy storage, or AI / ML applications to renewable energy.Strong engineering, design, and communication skills; ability to work in a dynamic team and solve problems creatively.Ability to quantify the value of new technologies and prioritize opportunities.Experience with techno-economic analysis, financial modeling, and energy production modeling.Strong organizational and prioritization skills; detail-oriented; self-starter with ability to drive to completion.Comfort with ambiguity and ownership mindset.Excellent communication skills with ability to simplify technical results for executive audiences.Ability to contextualize technical modeling results and present clear takeaways.Compensation & Benefits
Base : 160,000–180,000 USD; pay range is a guideline and may vary by skills, experience, location, and benchmarks. Total compensation may include discretionary bonus, long-term incentive plan, and a comprehensive benefits package.
