Overview

Lead Pediatric Nuclear Medicine Tech Full Time Days — Join to apply for the role at Children's Hospital of Michigan . This position is based in Detroit, Michigan and supports pediatric nuclear medicine services with day shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a lead or resource for personnel involved in Nuclear Medicine Procedures, in addition to performing Nuclear Medicine Technologist duties as required.
  • Coordinate the flow of work, delegate, oversee and guide staff in carrying out their duties.
  • Follow up on activities of Nuclear Medicine Technologists, resolve routine and complex problems, and ensure department operations are safe and efficient.
  • Monitor the quantity and quality of work flow to ensure tasks are completed and that diagnostic procedures are performed according to department standards.
  • Recommend personnel actions by providing input for performance appraisals, hiring decisions, and progressive discipline up to termination of employment.
  • Assist with monitoring performance improvement plans.
  • Schedule and perform timekeeping for nuclear medicine technologists; participate in on-call / standby as required by the department.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, government regulations, JC requirements, and DMC policies; implement audit recommendations as directed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period.
  • Two or more years of progressively more responsible Nuclear Medicine Technologist work experience.
  • Skills Required

  • Analytical and clinical skills to determine the most age-appropriate method for providing radiographs based on patient abilities and limitations.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with patients under stress and with a diverse hospital team; ability to follow physicians' verbal and written requests.
  • Technical knowledge to operate equipment including specialized equipment and computers.
